Eastern Aesthetics Residence

Interior Space and Exhibition Design Eastern Aesthetics Residence by Haihua Zhang Eastern Aesthetics is the interior design of a villa in Suzhou, China, covering 1300 square meters. The design is based on the ideal lifestyle of the literati of the Southern Song Dynasty. Rooms are arranged in sequence along a central axis, following the classical craftsmanship of the Master of the Nets Garden in Suzhou. The wood walls were made by craftsmen of Ming style furniture, using customized wooden joints. Lighting fixtures in the courtyard resemble flower petals. Blue garden chairs stand beside wood rails, joining classical and contemporary elements.
